The following are reflections from our Year 7 & 8 technology session…
“Today in food tech, Crystal, Ethan, Anjelica, Kristopher and I made double chocolate chip muffins. First we made muffins with 1 important ingredient left out. I had to leave out the milk, Crystal had to leave out butter, Ethan had to leave out the flour, Kristopher had to add double the baking powder and Anjelica hade to leave out the egg. Ethan’s muffins without the flour were runny. Anjelica’s muffins without the egg was just the same but it hade a flour taste, mine without the milk was yuck and all hard, Kristopher’s muffins were odd and Crystals muffins were different. They hade big mountains on the top. After play we made the real ones. Crystal and I finished first like always and we got to leave first.” - Written by Sheridan
“This week we did the keyboard again and we also created some music. We got to choose a band on the computer. Now Anne-Marie is putting the music onto some discs. Our group from our school is all on advanced.” – Written by Danielle
“I did very well in my food. I made 6 muffins. They are nice and next time I go I want to do better.” – Written by Kristopher
“Muffins, Muffins and more muffins. We had to do taste testing of different muffins with 1 key ingredient left out. I had to leave out egg and my one was the one that looked the most like a muffin. After play we made the actual muffins to take home. The chocolate melted.” – Written by Anjelica
“I learned about advanced melodies. My favourite one is Amazing Grace.” Written by Canon
“In cooking we made muffins and they had choc chips in them. Before that, we made muffins that were missing an ingredient and it was fun.” – Written by Ethan
I did very well in the music class and got an A+ for the keyboard performance. I didn’t quite get there at the start. I am up to Amazing Grace which is an advanced melody.” – Written by Kerianne
“I was all on my own at tech today. It was every fun to because I got to listen to some music.” – Written by Ty
“Today at technology, Kairanga wasn’t there cause it had its production so it was just me and Santana. We had to find pictures for our ICT project and mines on the NBA. For the project you have to find the history and find information about contests, teams or players. Santana is working on shops and then we have to do tux typing.” Written by Tyler
“This week at technology we made Double Chocolate Chip Muffins. In the first period we made one batch of muffins but we have to leave one item. I had to miss out Butter and Anjelica had to miss out egg. Why we did this is because we had to see what each individual ingredient did to change the recipe. I missed out butter and mine rose really high. Anjelica missed out egg and hers were darker than everybody else’s. Ethan missed out Flour and his were a lumpy, moist dump. Christopher had to double the amount of Baking Powder so therefore it tasted salty. Sheridan had to miss out milk so hers were all dry and hard. In the second period we actually made Choc Chip Muffins, it was cool because Kairanga weren’t there and so we all got make 6 instead of 3. At the end we sprinkled Icing Sugar over the muffins and they tasted sweet as!” Written by Crystal
“Today was fun because there was a game on the computer you had to make a band. You got to pick what you wanted. We had a performance in front of every.” Written by Fayth
“This week I went to technology and made music on garage band. We played on the key board. It was fun when we talked about famous singers and what bands there are. Garage Band is also like acid. It was cool but sad because I didn’t go for nearly three weeks because of that dumb bug I had.” Written by Charles
“This week at technology their was only Longburn there. The classes were small and there were only 3 people in wood work. We started on our acrylic key rings. Mine is in the shape of Pac- man. The boring part is going to be sanding it.” Written by Jonti
“Today it was fun because Kairanga wasn’t at technology. Longburn students could talk amongst ourselves. We had fun starting on our acrylic key rings. Mine has a ‘F’ on it. There was a lot of sanding and filing to be done. The sessions just flew by.” Written by Francine
