Room 1 [Yr 7&8] and Room 4 [Yr 1&2] went exploring the new landscaping we have going on at the school at the moment. They gathered some words to describe what they saw and then turned it into a descriptive piece of writing.

MUDDY

Sean played on the stones and mud. There were big poles and lots of wood. Sean thinks the wood might be for a merry-go-round. We got to feel the squishy dirt, muddy mud and soft cement. There were tire tracks and pipes all over the mud. The grass was all cut up. - Written by Sean and Charles

WHAT BRENDAN SEES

I can see big wooden poles sticking out of the ground. The dark brown dirt feels hard and squishy. The hard big stones hurt your feet. The sand was hard but left my small footprint. There was some squishy white foam that tickled my feet. The grass looked funny because it was pink. There is going to be black drain pipes. - Written by Brendan and Jonti

SQUIGGLY SNAKES

Louie thinks the black pipes look like aquiggly snakes and thinks the concrete looks like white hard mud. He also thinks the drain looks like a silver leaf. All the wood is going to be a sandpit. The poles are rough and muddy. When its finished he wants to play in the sandpit with his friends and sit in the shade. Written by Louie and Tyler

LOTS OF MUD

Lots of mud that feels hard. Lots of poles that are going to hold up the sandpit. The poles are long, hard, fat and little. The big rope is pink, long and thin like a hair-tie. The sandpit is big and round. When they have finished, it is going to look cool. Written by Alyssia and Fayth

BUILDING SITE

Today we looked at the building site. We had to look at what we could see. We could see lots of cool stuff. There are big pieces of wood and some pink grass. It is funny. It looks like lipstick.
