Enrolment Scheme Information

The Longburn School Board of Trustees welcomes enrolment applications from parents who wish to enrol their children at Longburn School. 

Enrolment at Longburn School is governed by a Ministry of Education approved enrolment scheme, details of which are available on the school website, the website Education Counts, or from the school office.

If you are out of zone but wish for your child to attend Longburn School we encourage you to still lodge an enrolment application so that your child’s enrolment can be considered as we are likely to have places available in 2025 and 2026.  The board has determined that 30 places are likely to be available for out-of- zone students next year. The exact number of places will depend on the number of applications received from students who live within the school’s home zone.

There are four enrolment periods. These are outlined in the table below.  Enquiries outside of this timeframe are welcomed.

Pre-enrolments can be made online via our school website.

If the number of out of zone applications exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by ballot. If a ballot for out-of-zone places is required, it will take place on the date outline in the table below for that enrolment period. Parents will be informed of the outcome of the ballot within three school days of the ballot being held.
